Hmmm.
The code you gave here was not complete, so it's difficult to judge.
In your code the file seems to be created on the stack (or was it just to simplify it?): in this case you even don't have to close the file; may be you can you show us the real code (I mean if the file it's a member var, where it is closed etc.)?
Did you use try-catch block for the open/close handlers to see if something goes wrong (or got some messages in the debug window)?
